Which Property Have to Pay Zakat?

Gold-silver, cash, cattle, crops and all kinds of commercial goods.

Gold & Silver (Ornament)

After one Hijri year, if a person has a nisab amount of gold and silver (ornaments) in his possession, then Zakat should be paid, regardless of the purpose for which the gold and silver (ornaments) are stored. Zakat is not obligatory on any metal product other than gold or silver. However, if he trades in all commodities, then zakat must be paid on him as a commodity.

Cash

Banknotes Money, Taka, Rials, Dollars Any Cash Money Zakat should be paid on any business paper which has material value.

Business Products

Zakat must be paid on all the products with which the business is done or all the products that are traded or sold for business. Many scholars believe that it is obligatory to pay a certain amount of business goods at the end of each year as Zakat.

Four Legged Animals  

Zakat should be paid on camels, cows and goats. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned paying zakat on these three animals. Apart from these three animals, animals other than Zakat do not have to pay Zakat. If a Muslim stays with this nisab amount of wealth for the whole year, then he will pay Zakat.

What is the Amount of Zakat?

After zakat becomes obligatory, we need to know how much of the wealth we have to pay zakat. We have to pay Zakat as much as Allah and the Prophet (peace be upon him) told us to pay Zakat.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that if a person has a nisab amount of wealth at the end of the year, he should pay zakat on two and a half percent of his wealth. That means you have to pay Zakat for every 100 Taka.

Who Has to Pay Zakat?

According to Islamic law, zakat can be paid to other types of people. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) allowed the payment of Zakat in these eight sectors. The other type of person to whom zakat can be paid or those who are eligible to receive zakat are – the rules of zakat collection

  • Fakir
  • Miskin
  • Zakat collector and custodian
  • Paying zakat to a non-Muslim to attract them to Islam
  • For the release of slaves
  • Debtor
  • In the way of Allah and
  • Traveler

Zakat can be paid in the above 8 sectors. The rest of these 8 sectors are not eligible for zakat.

Islam stands on a total of five pillars. Kalima, Salat, Zakat, Fasting and Hajj. Every rukun is very important. If zakat is obligatory, it must be paid. If zakat is not paid regularly then the wealth is not real. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): So we must be motivated to pay zakat. Social inequality can be eliminated by collecting zakat.
