Twelve teams will take part in the main round of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Of these, eight teams will qualify directly and the remaining four teams will have to qualify after playing Round One. The top eight teams in the main team are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Australia, India, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa. These eight teams are again divided into 2 groups.
Group-1: Afghanistan, Australia, England, and New Zealand.
Group-2: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and South Africa.
The two teams that win from Round 1 will advance to Group 1 and Group 2.
The teams that will play in Round-1, Group-A, and Group-B are:
Group-1: Namibia, Sri Lanka, Qualifier 2 and Qualifier 3.
Group-2: Scotland, West Indies, Qualifier 1, and Qualifier 4.
T-20 World Cup 2022 Matches
The 1st round match will start on 16th October and will continue till 21st October. The first match of the first round will be played between Sri Lanka and Namibia. A total of 12 matches will be held in the first round. And a total of four teams, two from each group, will qualify for the second round.
New Zealand and Australia will meet in the first match of the Super Twelve on 22 October. There will be 30 matches like Super Twelve. The match of Super Twelve will be held till 6 November 2022. The top two teams from both groups will face off in the semifinals after 30 matches have been played.
And the winner of the semi-final match will face off in the final on November 13, 2022, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
